Episode 10 | Thailand for Indian Travelers
“Bangkok is known as the street food capital of the world, but there are several tips for Indians who want to have a good experience with the food.”
-Abhishek on “Thailand for Indian Travelers”
There are no shortage of podcasts and blogs about visiting Thailand, but most of the sites and advice blogs are geared towards Westerners. We take this episode to break down touring Thailand from an Indian perspective.
Thailand is a hot spot for Indians, but there is a lot that can go wrong and a lot that you need to be aware of. We talk through food for vegetarians and non-vegetarians, language and culture, religious sites to visit, visa and currency issues, how to have a good experience at the beach, how to get around, medical tourism and activities to avoid- all catered to an Indian audience.
Sun lo, yaar! We hope this is a helpful tool for any South Asian traveling to Thailand, or even those non-desis who want to learn about the differences between Thai and Indian culture!
The Invisible India Podcast’s opening and closing music is performed by Christopher Hale on Sitar and Ed Hanley on Tabla.
